All of a sudden it came to me that within those days of practicing and competing, it no longer that much fun to swim. For the very first afternoon this summer I jumped into the pool just for fun, and that had been a hell of time . Then the Olympic turned me ALL on. So I swam for speed. Admittedly I did get a lot better and faster. Just when swimming became a part of my summer plan and increasingly kind of grew into my habit, the fun before disappeared. I swam for winning, I cheered out loud for beating others, I eagered to go back to pool for honor. Eventually I got tired, my speed was hanging. And it all came up to me two weeks later when I stood at the poolside lookin'into water , "what have I done to myself ?" I used to swim for nothin' but fun, but interest, but leisure. I relaxed, and swam because I like it. Now it seems more like I have to swim because I need to be faster. All the pressure has made me this competitive.
Maybe I fell into the wrong way for so long time, but I do want to be faster, and I do want to be greater. Nothing's changed then. However the way I treat swimming, needs a totally different attitude -- I swim for fun, and I swim because I can.
P.S.
